The Secret To Long Term Fat Loss

Having a customized nutrition plan (like the one in my program) will help you lose body fat but more important than that is to understand why it’s working.

You’ve probably heard this proverb before “Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.”

The fact is that most people know more about their friends Facebook profile than they do about their own body. Every day people consume food without even thinking about the ingredients, the amount of carbohydrates or the impact it’s going to have on their short and long term health.

Some experience heart burn, headaches, acne, lack of energy, baldness and they don’t even think about their diet as the main culprit.

The point is you need to understand why you are a losing weight to make sure that you keep it off for the long term. And we need to start teaching this to children too.

Let me try to summarize it as simple as possible for you.

There are millions of diet books out there (including my own) that all work in the exact same way just disguised differently.

The big idea of all diet books is: Lower your insulin load and lose body fat.

Atkins, South beach, Eat clean, Paleo, Protein power, Fat belly diet and the list goes on. All the same concept only it’s presented differently. Some start lower in carbs, some give you cheat days, some restrict calories some make you focus on certain foods.

But what about the guy that ate the potato diet or the twinkie diet full of sugar and still lost weight? The fact that someone drops overall calories means that they will also drop the insulin load. Go from 3000 calories to 2000 even though there is sugar and you start losing (for a short while).

Everyone is different when it comes to how many carbohydrates their bodies can handle. A diet that may work for one person may not work for another simply because they were genetically configured differently through their evolution. Some people gain weight off of 100g of carbohydrates and other don’t and the trick is to find your sweet spot.

What makes us so different is simply our hormones (more specifically the hormone called insulin), some people control insulin well in response to a food compared to others. Which means some people can gain weight from eating a bagel breakfast and others can’t.

Since the hormone responsible for accumulating fat is the hormone insulin and since insulin is secreted in large part in response to the amount of carbohydrates you consume don’t you think it would be well worth the time (probably only 2 – 30 minute sessions) to figure out what major foods you eat on a daily basis have carbohydrates in them and how many grams they have?

This is the type of information that is worth memorizing, it’s as crucial as learning how to read or how to brush your teeth. It’s your long term health we’re talking about here.

If not for yourself do it for your children. Make it a game, how many carbohydrates in these foods?

Like I said at the beginning, following a plan will get you to your goal but for results that will last a lifetime, education is key.
